June 3rd Meeting
The Remarkable World of Orchids
with Axel Cahiz of Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

At this month's meeting Axel Cahiz of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens will present: The Remarkable World of Orchids—their intricate beauty, evolutionary diversity, and the careful cultivation required to sustain them in public gardens and private spaces. By sharing practical insights from Vizcaya’s conservation ethos and Amazonia’s breeding and lab work, I hope to inspire appreciation, responsible stewardship, and curiosity about plant science among attendees.
About the speaker: Axel Cahiz is the Horticulture & Orchid Curator at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a dedicated orchid specialist with a passion for conservation, education, and the vibrant artistry of tropical flora. He also proudly leads Amazonia Orchids, Inc., a responsive, family-owned orchid nursery based in Homestead, Florida.
