The Garden Club is a membership club of garden enthusiasts that meets on the first Wednesday of the month. The club is open to anyone, but only members and their guests may attend our meetings and other events.
October Guest Speaker
This Month we have David Hernandez of LeafGardens as our guest speaker.
David will be sharing his expertise and love of Aroids in a talk entitled:
Spathe & Spadix - Aroids are Awesome!Add Aroids to your garden! This talk is a light overview of these fascinating plants and how easy they are to grow. You may even already have some and don’t even know it!David is an avid gardener and general plant enthusiast for over 20 years. Though his specialty lies with the putrid spires of Amorphophallus, he’s cared for an eccentric farrago of succulents, fruit trees, begonias, and other aroids.
Members gain access to our private Facebook group for garden advice from industry professionals, discussions of plants and gardening, and member-only activities.
About Us
Flamingo Gardens Garden Club was formed in 2025 in conjunction with the Flamingo Gardens Horticulture department under the guidance of Horticulture Director Chris Maler and Botanical Curator Amy Rielly. The club was created to build a local community focused on all types of gardening.
Schedule
The garden club meets on the first Wednesday of every month. The next meeting is on Wednesday, October 1st. Meetings are held in the Mary N. Porter Learning Center.Doors open 6:30pm for meet & greet with the meeting starting at 7pm.
